This Scripture,
which has become true in my life through the Lord Yeshua, also known
as Jesus Christ, is found in both the Old and New Covenants. In
Exodus 15:2, in Psalm 118:14, and in Isaiah 12:2., and John 5:39. It
is an underlying theme which the God of Israel puts in the heart of
those who love Him.
I did not
always believe in Him. I was raised in a secular Jewish home.
Although I went to Hebrew school for 2 years as a child, I was not
taught any Scripture, just "Bible stories."
But although
the Bible is a story, a true story, it is much more. It is the
eternal God's love letter to mankind, told from the eternal
perspective. All who seek Him will find Him, for "He is not far from
any one of us."
At the age of
about 42, the Lord opened my eyes to my own mortality. He didn't
have to give me a real affliction, He only had to show me that all
of us will enter eternity, and none of us knows when. I became
consumed with fear…
I called upon
the Lord, whom I had not known. He answered me, and brought me up
out of the pit, and set my feet upon a Rock. I became a believer in
the Messiah Yeshua, through His great love, His outstretched arms, and His
great judgments. He has put a new song in my heart, where once was
terror and despair.
What God did
for King David in the wilderness, He will do for us in our
wilderness. He became sin for us…His name is Yeshua, the Word made
flesh who walked among us. If you call upon Him, He will answer you,
and show you great and wonderful things out of His law, that you do
not know!
The music is
His gift to me, to be used as praise back to Him, Who alone is
worthy of praise.
